New Delhi, February 6, 2024 – Today marks the inauguration of the ULLAS Mela at the National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi, an event eagerly awaited by learners and educators alike. Hon’ble Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Minister of State of Education, Smt. Annpurna Devi, will inaugurate the festivities at 10:00 AM.

The ULLAS Mela promises a vibrant platform for learners and volunteer teachers to come together and exchange their enriching experiences. Over the course of two days, attendees will participate in panel discussions, where they will share insights and best practices. States and Union Territories will showcase their innovative approaches to education through presentations, while exhibitions and cultural programs will add a touch of creativity and entertainment to the event.

  • (i) Foundational Literacy and Numeracy;
  • (ii) Critical Life Skills;
  • (iii) Basic Education;
  • (iv) Vocational Skills; and
  • (v) Continuing Education.

ULLAS is to be implemented through VOLUNTEERISM, encouraging citizen participation, emphasizing DUTY or Kartavya Bodh towards nation-building. The scheme contributes to India’s growth, by making India जन जन साक्षर. The ULLAS App has been developed to register learners, volunteers and also containing teaching learning material for them.

The essence of the ULLAS Mela lies in its celebration of learning and collaboration. It serves as a testament to the collective efforts towards nurturing a culture of education and skill development across the nation.
